Day 94: Sex

A few days ago I came across this great clip from the new movie "Forks Over Knives" which discusses how vegan is the new Viagra. In this clip there are many different specialists talking about how when you eat a lot of meat and dairy you will start to clog you arteries. The first one to go is normally that which goes to your penis or clitoris causing erectile dysfunctions and low libido. On the other hand if you choose to eat a healthier plant based diet there will be an increased blood flow to the sexual organs. But don't take my word for it, see for your self.

There are many different types of foods to look for to help you improve your sex life, which makes grocery shopping for healthier foods a lot more interesting. Here are some super sex foods I believe everyone should know about:

Spinach and other Green Veggies - spinach is a major source of magnesium which helps dilate the blood vessels which means there will be better blood flow to the genital area which in turn creates a greater arousal for both men and women.

Peaches and other Fruit - Men who consume 200 milligrams of vitamin C a day improve their sperm count. Watermelon is also a great super sex food for it contains citrulline which is converted to the amino acid arginine which has the same basic effect on the body as Viagra.

Oatmeal and other whole grains - eating oatmeal is one of the few natural ways to boost testosterone in the blood stream. I know, who knew? Testosterone plays a major role in sex drive as well as the intensity of orgasms in both men and women.

Not only does eating a healthier plant based diet improve your sex drive and erections but it changes the taste of your bodily fluids. Various people have reported that vegan semen is significantly sweeter than that of a meat eaters. ( Note: I am not condoning people to have unprotected oral sex for you should always take precautions when it comes to your health) While the digestion of meat and dairy products negatively effect the taste of sperm on the other hand so does garlic, onions, brussels sprouts, and various veggie curries. You can actual purposely sweeten your semen by ingesting more fruits such as pineapple, and bananas.

Swallowing semen is actual pretty healthy for it contains protein, zinc, sugar, and various vitamins. The only thing you have to watch out for is sexually transmitted diseases. You should always have both you and your partner tested before engaging in any sexual activities anyways so you should be pretty safe if you’re monogamous. I do not know how they tested to see what foods change the taste of semen, but my boyfriend who is currently studying to become a doctor informed me that in a lab substances can be tested to be sweet or sour by testing the ph balance. The more acidic (such as meat and dairy) the more sour the taste. The more alkaline (such as various fruits and vegetables) the more sweet the taste.  Therefore you do not need to physically taste the semen to know what foods have changed the taste. If you are interested to see the ph balance of the food you are eating, and experiment for yourself check out The Alkaline Food Chart.

  1. That is so disgusting! Tasting semen?! That bodily fluid was intended for reproduction....not tasting! Can't imagine why anyone in their right mind would want to do something like that!

  2. Purposely trying sweeten semen?! You make it sound like it's like food or drink...That's just as crazy as trying to drink your urine or eat your feces! Yuck! I'd say it's common knowledge that what comes out of your private parts is either waste or reproductive fluid....not something you'd really want to have as a meal....

  4. You must be very traditional is you have never heard of people having oral sex. Believe me if you ever take part in it you might want to change what the other person is eating. It is not food, but there is a taste and if you want your partner to please you in that way you should think about how you taste. Oral sex isn't for everyone, and I am sorry If I offended you, but you were under no obligation to read it.

  5. Actually most of this post is pretty good....it offers great advice on how vegan food can improve your sexual experience. I'm just iffy on that last paragraph....tasting semen is just downright gross....and probably unhealthy too....

  6. Well there are people in medical labs who collect samples of semen to run tests on and stuff. But who on earth would be willing to do the job of actually tasting them??? I sure hope they are using safety precautions in the mouth (with anti-bacterial fluids??) and then they spit it out...no swallowing! Then rinse...Gee whiz...it's like wine tasting only a hundred times nastier!

  10. I actually added the above material to the body of my blog for it seems that a lot of you are interested in this subject matter, and wanted a more rounded source of information. I always welcome constructive comments and appreciate you feedback.

  11. I am relieved to hear that the taste of semen can be determined by pH test instead physically tasting it. I find (and I'm pretty sure most people find) the idea of semen in the mouth to be utterly revolting.
If semen is pretty healthy to swallow, what would you say about eating feces, drinking urine, and even (dare I say it) drinking blood?

  12. Semen comes out of the same male urogenital organs as does urine so there is the risk of urine getting mixed up with semen in the excretion....nasty business....unless there is some refining method used to take out the urine from the mixture. I understand that semen contains protein, zinc, sugar, and various vitamins….but so does the food you can get at a grocery store.
The thing is, why on earth should one bother to go out of the way to stimulate the male urogenital organs to excrete some semen to be swallowed?….when you can just cook a healthy meal that has protein, zinc, sugar, and various vitamins in them?
Seriously….what’s the point going through all this just to swallow a small amount of semen?

  13. I think you are misunderstanding what I am saying. Women do not just work there men to get a taste of semen. Many men like to be pleasured by oral stimulation during sex and will often ask a woman to swallow after he comes. Often women do not like this for various reasons. You said it was nasty, and some women think so to because they find the taste to be appalling. This article is written for those who do engage in oral sex and want to change the taste of their bodily fluids to make it more pleasurable to their partner. It is also not just for men, for women often like to be pleasured orally as well and their vaginal fluids often have an ever stronger taste and smell than men’s semen does. Also if you are concerned about urine being in the semen, don’t worry for men actually have precome that clears out any impurities such as any leftover urine long before they come.

  14. Sara that was a good point you made about watching out for sexually transmitted diseases. It is important to test for them. You also said that those who are monogamous are safe. What do you think about people who are not monogamous? Would they have to make sure all the planned participants are tested right before every sexual encounter? Or would it be much safer for non-monogamous people to refrain from engaging in these sort of penetrative sexual acts altogether?

  15. Everyone should be tested before they engage in sexually activities whether they are monogamous or not. But you are right that it is probably not a good idea to do it with some one who is not monogamous for you are really having sex with every person they have had sex with. If your partner is currently having sex with three other people and those people are having sex with three other people your chances of getting a sexually transmitted disease will go up exponentially for it would be like you having sex with 13 people! That is one of the reasons why monogamous in my opinion is the way to go.

  18. Sara that comment pertains to your post. It's an article about how oral sex can be the cause of mouth and throat cancer. You mentioned oral sex in your post and this addresses the health concerns associated with it.

  19. I am not discussing in my post whether or not someone should or should not have oral sex, but rather how the vegan diet effects those who do engage in that activity. Also one should always take precautions before engaging in any sexual activity what so ever. Which is why I did add the note "I am not condoning people to have unprotected oral sex for you should always take precautions when it comes to your health". As long as you take the necessary precautions you should be fine. These days everything seems to give you cancer form meat and dairy, to microwaves and cellphones. Does that mean I am never going to use a cellphone or microwave ever again? No, but I might take precautions by limiting my use of them.
